On Friday 30th June 2017, Irish Para-cyclist Jerry Towey embarked on a mammoth 5 hour on-the-spot cycle ride

Covering the same distance as from Ballaghaderreen, Roscommon to Drogheda, Louth, some 176 Km.

This was followed that evening by a social in Duffy’s Four Ways, Kilmovee where former all-Ireland champion Johnny Towey and special guests provided the entertainment.

All in aid of a local schoolboy Keith Gallagher (12) as he fights the biggest battle of his short life to beat Leukaemia.

With online donations via www.kilmovee.info (still open until end of July), Sponsorship cards and the collection buckets that were available throughout the day where the enormous generosity from friends of the family, team mates, school friends, locals and people who were just passing shone through. Helping us surpass our initial estimates and nudging us close to a grand total of €14,000.

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to this amazing total and more details will follow over the coming weeks.
