Kilmovee Community Centre are looking for parents and young people (18+) who would be interested in starting a Scout Group.
Scouts cater for boys and girls starting at 6 year old’s (Beaver Scouts), who then progress to Cub Scouts from 9 – 11 year old’s with Scouts from 12 – 15 year old’s, from there there is also Venture Scouts (15 – 17) & Rover Scouts (18 – 20)
Beaver Scouts is for our youngest members. They range in age from 6 to 8 but don’t let their age fool you! They have fun by trying new things like camping.
Cub Scouts continues the Adventure and is for 9 to 11 year old’s. The Cubs Scouts get to plan their adventures, they care for their community & the environment.
Scouts are 12 to 15 years of age. Scouts get to do more for themselves and have more of their own adventures that they get to choose.
Venture Scouts is from 15 to 17 years of age. It provides challenges and adventure that will get you working with others to make a difference in your community.
Rover Scouts is the final programme section and is for 18 to 20 year old’s. Rovers are adults, looking to bring adventure, entertainment and service into everything they do.
The Scouts have a huge movement throughout the world and have been in Ireland since 1908.
One of Scouting’s fundamental creeds is to encourage the physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual development of young people so that they may achieve their full potential and, as responsible citizens, to improve society. Well why not join us and help your local young people achieve this development while having a great time doing it?
If this sound’s like something you would like to get your family involved in then we would need parents to help establish & set up with the assistance of Scouting Ireland and Kilmovee Community Centre.
We would need a minimum of 12 parents or young people 18+ a meeting with a Scouting Ireland representative would take place and we can get the ball rolling.
Kilmovee Community Centre believe this would be a great addition to area and we would love to hear from anyone in any of our neighboring parishes and of course right here in Kilmovee.
Please share this to reach as many people as possible, thank you.
