@KilmoveeCCE Celebrated their 40th Anniversary in style last night in Kilmovee Community Centre

Joe Byrne (@radiomidwest) compared the evening of music, song and dance. Young and not so young musicians took to the stage to entertain a capacity crowd in the community centre.

Guests on the night included Dr.Labhrás Ó Murchú, Ardstiúrthóir of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, TG4 Gradam Ceoil recipient Patsy Hanley and All-Ireland winning musiciansDeirdre and Sylvie Golden, alongside local and visiting artists. The Aghamore Set Dancing Champions and the Ganley Sisters gave us a flavour of Irish dancing at its best.

The branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann was set up in Kilmovee in February 1977 and to this day is still going strong, and seeing the support and the talent of the younger musicians and the musicians that have past through the branch, it’s clear to see another celebration or two in the future.

Huge congratulations to everyone involved and all the people and businesses that supported the event.
