Kilkelly was the place to be this morning for the Western Care Association – Tour of Lough Mask Charity Drive, albeit very wet, windy & bitterly cold.
Over 20 tractors, 20 cars and numerous motor bikes & Honda 50’s left the car park in Kilkelly just after midday heading towards Cong (cars & motor bikes) returning via Ballinrobe (the tractors headed towards Swinford.)
I was given a lift with Kieran Tarpey in the Jaguar XJS at the front of the run which was stewarded superbly by volunteers on very big bikes, who kept us moving and together at all the major junctions.
The Cong community centre welcomed us with very welcome cup of tea/coffee and a few nibbles. I was snapping as much as I could with a camera that now needs restarting every 3-4 photos 🙁 (if you can donate/assist us to purchase a new camera please click here)[justified_image_grid limit=35 last_row=center flickr_user=52339841@N05 flickr_photoset=72157666455957820]
The drive was enhanced by a Swiss tourist who joined us on the run back from just outside Cong in his Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce, how often is Kilkelly visited by a genuine Super Car? Its not that often, so when the opportunity to get up close with this beautiful machine I just had to take a few pictures.
