The Fureys performed the first of their 40th Aniversary Tour concerts in Kilmovee, this Friday (5th January) to a sell-out.
Kilmovee Community Centre hosted one of the best-known bands in Irish music and they sure know how to entertain, making it easy to see how they are now celebrating 40 years on the road.
Bringing their emotive songs and stories stirring many emotions, tears and laughter, sadness and joy to the capacity crowd.
The staff and voluntary committee presented the band with a celebratory cake before the concert and a souvenir framed large ticket from the evening.
A huge thank you to The Furey’s for the privilege, a big thank you to everyone who attended our community, some travelling some distance to be there,
A beautiful concert in a wonderful venue
The boy’s just keep getting better, so much emotion. Thank you Kilmovee.
Followed them all over the place, just great to see them in an imitate venue like Kilmovee
Just a few of the kind words from a few I spoke to after the concert.
I managed to capture some of the atmospheres with the photos below and Fr. Sherlock also caught what was surely the highlight, a rousing rendition on the Green Fields of France in the video below.
We would like to wish the Fureys every success on their tour and extend a welcome back, as it would be fantastic to see them again in Kilmovee.
