We’ve all wondered what it’s like! Heaven, afterlife, beyond the grave… Truth is we don’t know and can’t know.

It’s only through a journey into deep faith that we can decide to accept that there has to be something beyond all of this. On Easter Sunday we celebrate the Empty Tomb and it’s in that very emptiness we find something of consolation. The Empty Tomb is pointing towards resurrection and resurrection is pointing towards Heaven and Heaven is pointing towards hope.

Questions are asked of Jesus in this weekend’s Gospel about the afterlife and a story told of seven brothers dying who had each been married to the same woman. “Whose wife will she be in Heaven?” they ask “since she was married to all seven”. The story may be far-fetched but the question is real. What will it be like?
