When Jesus took the jug and basin in the Upper Room you’d wonder how many remembered today’s Gospel Passage when the woman washed the feet of Jesus? Chances are the link wasn’t made but it seems likely there was a link.

The woman before us in this weekend’s liturgy let her tears fall on the feet of Jesus and dried the tear soaked feet with her hair. People looked on disapprovingly but Jesus called them to a recognition of the woman and her desire for forgiveness. Her act of humility touched the heart of Jesus and he responded with words of forgiveness. Her life would never be the same.
