Welcome to our half year & June performance report. It’s been a busy and bit of a stressful month but we’re through it and Kilmovee Info will continue to grow and develop.
We have moved back to a high-end off the shelf hosting package which will save a huge amount of money and will allow me to concentrate on developing the site for the years to come, however funds will be required and I urge you to support the site whenever you get the opportunity. I would also like to thank the committees of Kilmovee Community Centre and Kilmovee Cairdeas Family Resource Centre for their support and those of you who have also contributed.
Just a quick reminder to please keep spreading the word to your family & friends about Kilmovee Info and don’t forget to share the site on all the social networks & don’t forget to keep using the hashtags #kilmovee #kilkelly #urlaur #glann on social networks to help me find news and information from around the parish. And to keep sending us your events, news and information.
I have reintroduced a simple contact form on the Contact page and of course you can send me an email or two to [email protected].
The mobile version of the site is lightweight and simple and is even quite speedy in weak broadband areas.
The number of articles on the site has been reduced and I will be removing move over the next few weeks to bring the total to 500-600 this will help keep the site fast and use less resources too.
So how has the first 6 months of 2016 been for you? Well for Kilmovee Info it has been pretty amazing with 38,508 page views so far compared to 31,179 in the same period in 2015… That’s over 7,300 more already!!
How Kilmovee Info did in June :
- 25 articles published
- 4,641 page views
- 3 emails answered/forwarded
- 100+ hours spent updating site (including attending events & moving to new host)
- Over 600 articles published on the site
- Facebook at 708, Twitter at 590 and Google+ 10
- 4,200+ pictures available in over 100 Albums on our Flickr
- Now on Instagram
- Now on SoundCloud
- 36 Hours of downtime recorded due to compatibility issues with new server.
I think you’ll agree the figures are simply amazing for such a small community, and the fact that the average community website (and some larger ones too) last between 3 – 5 years our site is going from strength to strength, that said I am still looking for folks to get involved and help me out from time to time…
You will also notice that at the bottom of recent articles there is now a comments section, I’d really love to see a few of you get involved and start commenting on the news, info and events (but please keep it civil).
That’s it for now, keep on sharing, commenting and spreading the word about your community website Kilmovee Info.
