Kilmovee Info – End of Features & Help Required

Over the past year we have re-activated the calendar, member profiles & introduced the new ‘Kilmovee – Live.

However, looking at the recent usage of all I have decided to remove these features, member profiles with immediate effect and the other two on 5th September*.

The website on a whole is performing well, ahead of the total for last year already.

Photos are by far the best performers with info and news doing well also.

I will look to how to improve on the current ‘coverage’ as I am limited in where I can be if there are multiple events on at the same time.

It baffles me too, when I post the parish bulletin there are lots of events that are not listed on Kilmovee Info (I sometimes harvest them to publish here), I urge community groups to please include the website when mailing the bulletin (kilmovee@kilmovee.info)

Currently there is an average of 319 visitors a day to Kilmovee Info, this in my opinion is a great number of people to reach for free.

Articles are published within 72 hours** as a guide meaning your event or news will reach potentially hundreds of people before the bulletin (**but normally a quicker than that)

Kilmovee Info is also ‘competing’ with the growing number of facebook pages in the community, yet the website continues to grow. (Something is working here, thanks to you coming & reading whats happening in Kilmovee and surrounding areas)

I am looking for help & support in a few different ways:

    • Photographers
    • Writers/Bloggers
    • Local Advertisers
    • Equipment Sponsors
    • Site Sponsors

All of the above will assist me to continue to grow Kilmovee Info and allow the site to cover more events in all part of the parish and events not yet covered.

Kilmovee Info has been online since 2009 and has steadily grown, I run the sight in my own time and on my own.

Recently members of the community, visitors to the site, Kilmovee FRC & Kilmovee Community Centre have contributed to the running costs, this is greatly appreciated.

But wear & tear on equipment, time, licences, travel etc. is not covered, this is a regular appeal which I am embarrassed to make on behalf of a ‘community’ venture.

I will conduct a full viability review from November as to whether I can continue for another year with an announcement due in the New Year (2018)

If you or your business, organisation or club can help contact me on rupert@kilmovee.info

Thank you for visiting, thanks in anticipation for your help, news and support in to the future.

A quick reminder that the deadline for publishing news ahead of my summer break is Thursday 17th August 2017 – No updates will be published from 18th August – 3rd September. Site will remain online during that time. Emails / messages will not be dealt with until 4th September.

*pending another review after the summer break
